We are seeking a Technical Writing Expert as part of DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Qatar Branch . In this role, responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that communicates complex technical information to diverse audiences, including developers, engineers, end-users, and stakeholders. The job opening is located in Doha, Qatar, and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that communicates complex technical information to diverse audiences, including developers, engineers, end-users, and stakeholders.
- Involves working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate technical details into accessible content, such as user manuals, system guides, API documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and online help resources.
- Write and edit technical content including manuals, user guides, installation instructions, FAQs, SOPs, product documentation, and knowledge base articles.
- Work with engineers, developers, product managers, and QA teams to gather technical information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Organize information logically using consistent structure, formatting, and terminology, ensuring alignment with style guides and brand voice.
- Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language appropriate for the target audience.
- Maintain and update documentation in content management systems (CMS), version control systems (e.g., Git), and document repositories.
- Review and edit existing documentation for clarity, grammar, consistency, and compliance with internal standards.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate, Master’s/Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in technical writing (e.g., from the Society for Technical Communication).
- International membership in relevant professional institution and Certified Licensure related to the task are preferred.
- Minimum 10 or more years' experience relevant to position in project. Experience in technical writing, preferably in industry, e.g., software development, engineering, healthcare, manufacturing.
- Experience writing for both technical and non-technical report writing in feasibility studies, master plan, and Executive Summary.
- Knowledge of structured writing or XML-based documentation (e.g., DITA).
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
- Graphic design or UX writing experience is a plus.
- GCC experience is preferred.
- Fluent in both Arabic (preferred) & English language. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Office Applications, MS Teams and Share Point Online. Familiarity with authoring tools such as Markdown, HTML, Confluence, MadCap Flare, FrameMaker, or Microsoft Word.
- Driving license required to drive to site or to technical meetings with the client representative.
