Technical Team Lead

Job Summary The Technical Team Lead is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in the integration, troubleshooting, and optimisation of telematics and control systems for emergency fleets. This role will focus on technical operations, product improvement, and project execution. The Technical Team Lead will work closely with the Regional Director and the Global Customer ServiceManagerto ensure alignment between customer needs and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership:

• Provide support and training to Acetech technicians.

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues related to telematics and control systems.

• Lead the integration and customisation of telematics solutions to meet specific customer requirements as per standards set out by Acetech.

• Develop and implement processes for troubleshooting, installation, calibration, and testing of products.

• Conduct field tests and evaluations to ensure optimal product performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with R&D teams to provide feedback from field operations and influence product enhancements.

Project Execution:

• Oversee technical aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring deliverables meet specifications, timelines, and budgets.

• Create detailed technical documentation such as service reports, installation guides, and troubleshooting protocols.

• Develop automated testing procedures and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups to improve efficiency in field operations.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within field application engineering operations.

• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform technical strategies.

Collaboration with the Regional Director / Customer Service Manager :

• Maintain regular communication with the Regional Director / Customer Service Manager to align on customer priorities and share insights from technical operations.

• Support account management efforts by providing technical expertise during customer reviews and strategic planning discussions.

The projects team focuses on delivering across FEED, Pre-FEED, Brownfield, and Greenfield scopes of work. 1. Provide integrity assurance of Process designs through appropriate application of Shell technical standards and specifications, implementation of DCAF and review of design deliverables and activities.
2. Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
3. Ensure repeated delivery of projects with HSSE & SP risk managed to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), creating a workplace without harm.
4. Ensure Technical HSE Engineering activities align with Shell’s Project Delivery Roadmap and Opportunity Realization Process.
5. Validate strategies/conceptual designs during early project phases.
6. Support COMPANY in auditing construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolving field non-conformance issues as required.
7. Ensure design meets Shell’s HSSE Framework requirements.
8. Design and develop innovative technical approaches to broader Technical HSE engineering issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Deliver integrated HSE risk management support across the full project lifecycle.
10. Identify and communicate HSSE best practices.
11. Provide Technical HSE engineering support and delivery according to the HSSE & SP Control Framework and standards.
12. Be accountable for technical HSE engineering deliverables and support engineering execution planning.
13. Work proactively with the Engineering Manager to keep projects on track and achieve top performance.
14. Drive efficiency in project design through elimination, simplification, standardization, and automation, maintaining high quality standards.

• BSc. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Technical HSE Design and Engineering, with at least 5 years in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery under an umbrella contract.
• Experience as a Lead Technical HSE engineer in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in quantitative risk and consequences simulation software such as PHAST and FRED.
• Experience working on Shell projects is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and technical report writing skills.
• Experience in the Middle East, with knowledge of GTL, Gas Processing, and Utilities is a plus, as is frontend and commissioning experience.
• Proven leadership skills and personal drive to meet deadlines and targets.
• Experience as HAZID / HAZOP Secretary is required.

• Experience leading a Technical HSE function within a multidisciplinary workforce.
• Proven as a professional Technical HSE engineer for projects and plant modifications from front end development through execution, commissioning, and start-up.
• Fully conversant with quantitative risk and consequences simulation software such as PHAST risk and FRED.
• Experience working on Shell projects is a distinct advantage.
