Position Title: Head, Mechanical Rotating Engineering

Location: Qatar (Doha)
Work Schedule: 5-day week

Qualifications:

• B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university; advanced degrees are advantageous.

• Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .

• At least 10 years of experience in offshore projects .

• Minimum 8 years as Senior Rotating Engineer on major projects, and 7 years as Lead Discipline Engineer in reputable EPIC contractors or consulting firms.

• Strong knowledge of Shell DEPs , international design codes , and engineering software tools .

• Extensive experience in managing multi-disciplinary design reviews, equipment procurement, factory testing, and interface resolution.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead all engineering efforts related to rotating equipment for BH and MM Redevelopment offshore projects.

• Serve as Technical Authority (TA-2) for rotating equipment, including technical deviation assessment and approval (as per delegation level).

• Accountable for ensuring designs are safe , cost-effective , fit-for-purpose , and meet project schedules , specifications , and quality standards .

• Coordinate with Engineering Manager, discipline leads, stakeholders, and contractors to manage design activities, reviews, vendor engagement, and issue resolution.

• Develop project design scopes, review and approve discipline deliverables, including specifications, datasheets, models, drawings, and vendor documents.

• Oversee and participate in HAZOP , HAZID , SIL , ENVID , 3D model reviews , constructability reviews , and other technical workshops.

• Support tendering activities: technical bid evaluations, technology assessments, and contractor/vendor selection.

• Ensure smooth transition and interface between engineering , procurement , fabrication , construction , and commissioning phases.

• Maintain strong relationships with EPIC contractors and vendors, providing clarification and technical interpretation as needed.

• Support the development and mentorship of junior engineers and Qatari Nationals.

Key Competencies:
