Senior Planning Engineer (Infrastructure) – Doha, Qatar
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planning Engineer to join our team. In this role you will provide planning and scheduling support required in the execution of projects, overseeing assigned engineering construction projects. Analyzing engineering problems, evaluating alternatives, and recommending solutions. Developing, implementing, and maintaining scheduling and project controls functions on programs (design and construction projects).
What You'll Be Doing- Extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing and control from project initiation to close out phases, utilizing computer-based systems (Primavera Project Management P6 and Primavera Contract Management Expedition), within the framework of an integrated project services function for the effective management of a wide range of concurrent projects, to meet the business plan objectives.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts current status against an established baseline schedule.
- Assesses the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
- May supervise and provide performance reviews for one or more lower-level Project Control Specialists and/or support personnel.
- Provides input to Sr. Project Control Staff regarding staffing requirements.
- Completed at least one project in the same role that is comparable in complexity and size to the project.
- Uses the latest version of Primavera Project Management (P6) and Primavera Web Scheduling software for monitoring and reviewing baselines and updated project schedules and cost.
- Ensures the use of standardized forms and reports in Primavera Contract Management (Expedition).
- Reviews contractor work program submissions including all narratives and supporting information and provides analysis and findings.
- Verifies actual progress and compares actual performances to original plans.
- Monitors, adjusts, and updates the cost plan and cash flows accordingly and consolidates these results in monthly reports.
- Implements and maintains an Earned Value Management System on the project.
- Performs EOT assessments and prepares recommendation reports.
- Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management/P6 and Primavera Contract Management/Expedition) and cost engineering.
- Minimum 14 years of experience in large infrastructure projects (roads, sewer, surface water potable water) in a similar role with an engineering consultancy, supervisor consultancy, or project management consultancy.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
- Proficient PC skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Primavera Project Management/P6, Primavera Contract Management/Expedition, and Power BI.
- MMUP certificate is a must.

• Support and advise the client Management in the review, development and implementation of Transportation plans, strategies, traffic management and network performance in the State of Qatar.
• Develop Transportation network plans and designs.
• Develop Transportation demand management studies and mobility solutions.
