- Maintain positive customer relations through professional interactions with customers.
- Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of Aerial Work Platforms and associated equipment, which utilise mechanical, diesel, electrical and electronic systems.
- Installs and repairs mechanical, hydraulic or electrical parts such as hydraulic cylinders, engine parts, switches, controllers and associated components.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts

- Analyze existing work procedures and develop a plan to improve ways to provide efficient, time saving and cost effective approach processes.
- Perform a variety of specialized maintenance and repair work assigned such as – major overhauls of Engine, Hydraulic pumps & cylinders, Rotary coupling, swing drive, torque hub and other mechanical components.
- Repair electrical components such as starter motors, alternators, and various controllers used on the AWP’s.
- Test and perform pressure setting procedures of function pump, control valves, charge & pressure valves, Engine valve lash adjustment.
- Use testing and measuring instruments to Test, analyze, calibrate and adjust/ upgrade JLG control system, Genie generic system, Teupen TODAC system, EZcal on MEC, Snorkel & Skyjack machines.
- Read and interpret basic hydraulic & electrical schematic and troubleshoot faults on various AWP’s.
- Carry out major refurbishment work of AWP’s which involves replacement of boom/scissor assembly and major components.
- Periodic safety, operation and maintenance inspection of machines at various sites.
- Install track and trace equipment on AWP’s and upgrade equipment system performance in accordance with manufacturer's safety notice.
- Applying approved methods of work & repair practices. Alternative methods will be considered after consultation. An example of approved procedures for the maintenance and repair of equipment is the “Service Work Order”.
- All Technicians involved in “On site servicing” & “Breakdowns”, must adopt & use the approved procedure only. Examples of some of these procedures are; the correct use & completion of “Field Service Reports”, correct phone procedure, & the polite communication with clients at all times.
- Any parts replaced must be recorded on the approved “service work order” or “Field service reports”.
- All parts that are replaced under warranty must have the appropriate paperwork completed as soon as the part has been used. (Determination of warranty status can be obtained from the Workshop Manager).
- All tools used must be operated in the manner for which they were designed; looked after and returned to their correct location at the end of the working day.
- All work practices must be safe. Applicable “Personal Protective Equipment”, such as Safety glasses & hearing protection, must be used at all times where applicable.
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment and make repetitive hand movement, heights on ladders, to lift, carry, push and or pull moderate amounts of weight, to operate/test the assigned equipment, and communicate to exchange information.
- Vision should see in the normal visual range with or without correction. Vision sufficient to read computer screens and on board digital controller screens and schematic drawings.

Job Description
The Senior Maintenance Engineer leverages deep understanding of maintenance strategies in order to contribute to day-to-day operational maintenance expertise and leadership and supports the Head of Maintenance in monitoring and implementing the strategies for managing the shipyards assets throughout their lifecycle. All works is executed to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems and policies. As a senior officer, a high level of technical skill and experience is demanded and is expected to be demonstrably applied to technical problems and monitoring of trades employees.
Accountabilities- Develops a deep understanding of the yard specific maintenance strategy and supports the Head of Maintenance in breaking strategy down into short to medium time horizon work plans and tactics. Supports the implementation of all aspect of the Maintenance Strategy
- Maintain all Lifting equipment's.
- Maintain all Mobile equipment's.
- Prepare and manage all spare parts required for the maintenance of the Equipment and related assets.
- Support the Head of Maintenance in the preparation of maintenance strategies to reduce failure rates of equipment and improve maintenance KPIs.
- Prepare RCA reports and provide Head of Maintenance with proposals for preventing repeat failures and ensuring lessons learned.
- Prepare scopes of work and tender documentation for subcontractors.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with scope of work.
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians.
- Prepare risk assessments and apply required permits.
- Maintain maintenance records.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and obtain approvals for any changes to systems and structures.
- Communicate upwards - training needs, process improvement suggestions and follow up on implementation.
- Schedule and prioritize work considering all available resources.
- Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and work within company policies, standards, procedures, and any legislative requirements.
- Adhere to health, safety, security and environmental policies, procedures, instructions, and controls for the safety of self and others.
- Ensure compliance to quality management procedures and controls to deliver high quality services and products.
- Follow all safety procedures and report lapses, if any. Monitors yard facilities and reports to the Head of Maintenance, where necessary.

- Takes corrective action on errors as defined in the IMS, as necessary.
- Achieves Performance Indicators as defined in the Qatar Shipyard Quality Policy and Objectives Matrix.
- Maintains the SAP Module is maintained according to the schedule.
- Implements and monitors compliance to department budgets and raises any requirement to deviate from them.
- Monitors approved subcontractors.
- Demonstrates leadership at a monthly section review meeting.
- Supports execution of daily operations, making sure maintenance plans are met.
- Contribute with timely updates and inputs such as lead and lag indication data to inform stakeholders to support internal decision making and performance review processes.
- Model a collaborative and cross-organizational relationship within and between maintenance and operations and support functions to ensure alignment to desired high performance culture.
- Drive a safety culture within the team through role modelling safety values and behaviors. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environment standards.
- Ensure achievement of key performance indicators & address performance issues.
- Apply skills, knowledge, and ability to ensure people and resources enable production throughput rate to be safely achievable in line with Section Plan and KPIs in line with Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions Values and IMS system.
- Drive high quality standards in the department to ensure all employees compliance to deliver high quality services and products and achieve customer satisfaction.
- Performs any other assigned duties and responsibilities.

- A Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or its equivalent.
- 10 years of relevant working experience in the industry.
