  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Engineer-level electrical engineering expertise to contribute to department objectives and company strategy
  • Minimum of 8 years’ engineering experience in the oil and gas sector

Duties:

  1. Provide electrical engineering support to projects, operations, and maintenance; contribute to division strategy and goals
  2. Understand electrical drawings and components, including:
  • Single Line Diagrams, symbols, and legends (e.g., 132kV/66kV/33kV/11kV/6.6kV/415V equipment)
  • Schematic diagrams of PDB/LDB/415V switchgear
  • Components such as transformers, relays, UPS, cables, motors, generators, capacitors
  • Protection relays and basic protections (overcurrent, earth fault, undervoltage)
  • Power and control fundamentals
  • Apply electrical theory and calculations, including:
    • Active/reactive power, power factor, synchronous speed, load/utilization factors
  • Familiarity with IEC standards for electrical components and hazardous area electrical equipment
  • Understand hazards in O&G plants and safe work practices, including zone classification, electrical safety, and arc flash hazards
  • Provide information to project management on operations and maintenance; review scope deviation requests
  • Support FAT/SAT activities conducted by the project team
