We are seeking a skilled and motivated Protection Engineer with hands-on expertise in Power System Protection, Testing, Commissioning, Operations, and Maintenance of control and relay panels, switchgears, and substation equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of protection relays, relay configuration, interlocks, and retrofitting works, along with proven experience in executing projects across various voltage levels.
The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills, technical accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality performance while working on domestic and international projects.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Review and analyze schematic drawings, prepare inputs for configuration, setting calculations, and relay commissioning.
- Perform scheme checking and troubleshooting of control & relay (C&R) panels, switchyard panels, and HV/MV switchgears (ABB, Siemens, GE, Schneider).
- Configure and test protection schemes such as Feeder, Busbar, Distance, Line Differential, Transformer Differential, and Motor Differential protections.
- Carry out testing & commissioning of protection relays, switchyard operations, CB interlocks, ATS/MTS, capacitor bank relays, and power factor controllers.
- Perform relay retrofitting, cable scheduling, and relay card replacements.
- Coordinate relay settings and protection schemes for substations; attend technical meetings and resolve client feedback.
- Integrate protection panels with SCADA systems.
- Lead site teams, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and project timelines.
