Job Description

Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and enhance our networking infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Required Training / Certifications :

Cisco CCNA / CCNP, or equivalent from other network vendors. ITIL, Monitoring tools such as CISCO LMS, SolarWinds, ManageEngine OP Manager, IBM IP Manager.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.

Tasks or Job Role :

Monitor core and distribution networks for availability and performance,

Conduct monitoring and event management, which includes identifying, isolating, and diagnosing events.

Identify any faults or performance issues in the network equipment infrastructure and address the associated problems.

Administer network security devices like Firewalls, NAC, and wireless controllers.

Address and resolve any access issues concerning access layer and passive components.

Oversee and monitor WAN connections to ensure cost-effective and optimized bandwidth usage. a. Manage SD-WAN devices and servers. b. Supervise MPLS (Fiber and Microwave) connections. Monitor Internet and Business broadband connectivity. d. Manage IOT connections.

The Network Administrator II leads a team in various maintenance evolutions, as well as advises Military and Civilian customers on Post / Camp / Station and enterprise level information technology (IT) solutions when appropriate. The individual defines technical and physical development of the network and assigns various tasks to keep the network running at optimum levels. This position requires an advanced knowledge in LAN / WAN troubleshooting. Various management and administrative tasks are also the responsibility of the Network Administrator II (NA II). The position reports directly to the Site Manager. The NA II assists and supervises subordinate NAs, oversees troubleshooting network problems, outages, and anomalies as required. The individual will be responsible for reporting all pertinent information about any anomalies on the network and can advise which related work centers or sites should be involved. Responsibilities Individual will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and operations of switches and routers. Monitor availability and reliability of LAN / WAN systems. Troubleshoots LAN / WAN connectivity. Ensure outages and corrective actions are reported to Regional Cyber Center-Southwest Asia. Resolve customer interface / user issues. Senior VLAN administrator Senior firewall and ACL configuration expert. Use Cisco Works (and other software application tools) to manage and administer the network. Network Cabling and installation supervisor. Plan network development and expansion as needed. Responsible for managing shift schedules, leave requests, and various other personnel administrative tasks. Knowledge of sub-netting, switching and Cisco IOS and train new NA I personnel. Enforces network security procedures, to include the ability to identify intrusion (monitoring devices), report attempts and prevent further access by unauthorized personnel. The work environment will be 95% indoor and 5% outdoor. Performs other duties and assignments as required.     Trace Systems is seeking a dynamic AOC Network Administrator I to join our team in support of the AFCENT Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) contract in Doha, Qatar.     The Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

    • Communications Security (COMSEC) Support. The contractor shall provide cryptographic equipment/COMSEC support, as required, as an alternate COMSEC custodian. Contractor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing, configuring, operating and maintaining encryption devices; performing hardware, software or firmware upgrades; and loading, rekeying and remotely managing encryption devices; and handling, managing and securing COMSEC material IAW AFMAN 17-1302-O, Communications Security Operations.
    • Provide Tier 2 technical support (diagnosis, analysis and troubleshooting and resolution for more complex network, client and end-user connectivity issues escalated by Tier 1 technical support staff);
    • Add and remove client devices (e.g., PCs, Thin Clients, VoIPs, VoSIPs, VTCs, DVTCs, peripherals, etc.) from networks;
    • Operate and maintain call manager (Cisco Unified Communications Manager); implement add, moves and changes; and manage DHCP reservations;
    • Update and patch network equipment, firmware and software to ensure configuration and cybersecurity compliance;
    • Operate and maintain access control systems; and manage and configure MAC address authentication;
    • Administer network administrative accounts and access;
    • Operate and maintain network monitoring and analysis tools; and detect, analyze and resolve network infrastructure and systems problems;
    • Assist with the tracking and management of COTS licenses, warranties, service level agreements renewals for network equipment and software;
    • Support interior existing and new network cabling/wiring infrastructure (fiber and copper) to include installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing cabling/wiring; and ensure cabling/wiring and patch panels are properly installed and labeled IAW TIA/EIA and local standards;
    • Assist with circuit actions to include preparing and coordinating requests for service; engineering, installing, testing and accepting or removing circuits per Telecommunications Service Orders; and preparing and maintaining circuit documentation and historical records;
    • Set-up, tear-down, configure, troubleshoot and maintain deployable communications suites (e.g., ECKs);
    • Update and maintain AOC network configuration and connectivity drawings, diagrams and engineering and installation documentation, and publish semi-annually
    • Manage, guide and train other Network Administrators and support personnel to ensure effective delivery and operation of the enterprise Network capabilities;
    • Monitor and control network performance, utilization and capacity to ensure optimal performance, availability, serviceability and recoverability; and report any vulnerabilities or deficiencies to 609 ACOMS and 609 EACOMS government technical representatives;
    • Evaluate current infrastructure, research current technologies/solutions; and provide hardware/software upgrade and replacement recommendations for end-of-life/end-of support COTS products to 609 ACOMS and 609 EACOMS government technical representatives;
    • Other Duties as Required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
    • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
    • DoDM 8140 IAT Level 2 (Security+) or higher
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) or equivalent certification

    Education

    • Associates degree in Computer Science or Networking; or 2+ years Networking experience
