Job Description
QA / QC Engineer is responsible for analyzing and qualifying an organization's products to ensure they meet quality and manufacturing standards. The engineer will work with other engineering teams to identify potential errors in processes or standards and design improvements for a more efficient and effective production line.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Description
- Accountable for the quality of all activities, with comprehensive knowledge of engineering construction related to multidisciplinary processes.
- Responsible for QA / QC documents of the entire project, including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, site instructions/observations, and delivery of permanent materials.
- Develop and set standards for inspections and tests, oversee testing methods, and maintain high-quality standards for all processes.
- Review the quality of materials on-site, ensure compliance with project specifications, and collaborate on material procurement and quality assurance.
- Supervise implementation of test and inspection schedules, ensure adherence to procedures, and coordinate quality audits across teams.
- Assist employees in understanding quality standards, ensure compliance with manuals and procedures, and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to uphold system quality.
- Manage equipment handling, hazardous material storage, and conduct scheduled quality audits.
- Monitor systems, record project activities, analyze processes, and ensure work meets quality standards.
- Manage work methods, stay updated on quality assurance standards, and recommend corrective actions.
POSITION TITLE : QAQC ENGINEER
Classification : Internal
- Develop method statements including risk assessments, job safety, environmental analysis, and Inspection Test Plans based on project specifications.
- Create frameworks, procedures, and instructions in collaboration with operational specialists to ensure effective implementation.
- Evaluate process performance, prepare reports with KPIs, and support strategic decisions.
- Coordinate audits with departments and auditors to ensure compliance.
3. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Work closely with HSE and Quality teams on process safety and documentation updates.
- Participate in audits related to process safety and contribute to corrective actions.
4. Reports
- Report observations, non-conformance issues, and corrective actions in a timely manner.
5. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS :
- Internal : Auditors, project teams, requesters, procurement, and quality departments.
- External : Contractors, vendors, consultants, auditors, and service providers.
6. WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Work is primarily independent or as part of a project team, with supervision review of completed assignments.
7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS :
- B.Sc. Eng or equivalent in relevant engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 4 years of Middle East / Gulf experience is mandatory.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- QA / QC certifications are mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of SAP (PM / MM).
- 8+ years of work experience in refinery or petrochemical Oil and Gas plants as QA / QC Engineer.
- Experience with SAP (PM / MM) and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills.

Job DescriptionJob Objectives:
To carry out tests and analysis which are scope of Spectral & Metallurgical Section (sampling, sample preparation and preservation, analyzing, registering results) according to valid Qatalum Laboratory Standards.
Job Description:
- Receive samples (or sample if applicable) from customers and undertake sample preservation/analysis, ensure results are accurate and delivered/registered on time and that samples are correctly identified at all times.
- Ensure all laboratory analysis comply with written SOP's.
- Draft SOP's/OPL's in Inosa (for assigned responsibility areas as per competence matrix).
- Handle deviations (in procedures and results) as per respective SOP's.
- Communicate suspicious results to the Chemist
- Dispose excess/analysed samples in proper way to reduce waste generation. Monitor disposal of all analysed/preserved materials.
- Understand department KPI's/PI's. Contribute to meeting the KPI's targets within defined roles and responsibilities
- Active participation in department meetings i.e. HSE talks, morning meetings, department meetings, based on availability and requirement.
- Ensure proper storage of all chemicals, glassware, spares, and gases.
- Ensure effective usage of consumables as well as their availability.
- Ensure instrument calibration and standard results are accurate and report analysed values in a timely manner
- Equipment first line maintenance and on time notification for any breakdown issues.

Responsibilities:
- CIPS & DCVG Surveys on pipelines in the Gas Operations network (RLIC, All Eastern Half of Qatar, and MIC).
- Conventional cathodic protection works such as potential, voltage and current measurements at test points, current drainage sources, continuity bonds, cross bonds, insulating joints and other cathodic protection hardware either as part of routine surveys or troubleshooting.
- Cathodic Protection Technician shall be capable of creating reports for the surveys including an interpretation of the results and comments and recommendations for remedial action, where appropriate.
- CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL shall from time to time carry out surveys along pipeline routes on the GDS as part of their duties. For the CP technicians this will be a significant part of their work.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical Engineering with 10 years experience or Graduate in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 5 years experience from a reputed institute.
Cathodic Protection Technicians shall be qualified to NACE CP Technician (CP2) level (or equivalent).
Experience:
The candidate shall have not less than 10 years for Diploma holders / five years for Graduate relevant experience and be fully skilled in carrying out CIPS & DCVG surveys. Age shall be not less than 30 years and not more than 45 years. He shall have the ability to pass QatarEnergy Permit to Work system and Consolidated Permit to Work system.
Shall pass PTW or ePTW as specified by Mesaieed Operations Qatar Energy HSE as required.

- To produce daily welding activity logs and reports for entry into the Inspection Management System (IMS) support software for SAP or IMMS.
- To review and sentence all associated Radiographs and NDT reports.
- To highlight areas of concern to QatarEnergy Senior Welding Inspector for rejection report generation.
- To produce rough site isometric sketches of pipelines where required highlighting inspection points, problematic locations, extent of scaffold access and insulation removal requirements.
- To report to QatarEnergy Senior Welding Inspector.
- Candidate shall have the ability to pass QatarEnergy Permit to Work system and Consolidated Permit to Work system.
Qualifications:
- CSWIP 3.2.2 minimum requirement. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Discipline from a reputed institute.
- The candidate shall be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
- The candidate shall be fully familiar with construction drawings, isometric and P. & I.Ds.
- The candidate shall be computer literate and familiar with MS Word and Excel. He shall be able to work under own initiative.
- The work entails a high percentage time on site.
Experience:
- The candidate shall have minimum ten (10) years experience in the oil and gas related business for Diploma holders / five (5) years for Bachelor of Engineering.
- He shall have proven experience of in-plant/construction welding inspection on oil/gas process facilities.
- The candidate shall be familiar with NDT techniques and valid level- II NDT certificates.
- Hold Valid CSWIP 3.2.2 certification for a minimum of three (3) years after certification.
- Candidate shall have the ability to pass QATARENERGY Permit to Work system and Consolidated Permit to Work system.
