Our Qatar based Design Services team needs an experienced Architect to join the team and help to provide proactive design support. The role demands a proactive individual who will design from inception through to completion of project.
This position will suit a qualified Architect with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and a sound understanding of all forms of building structures. Exposure to residential, commercial, educational, hospitality and / or hospital developments will be beneficial.
Requirement :
- Assist with leading and contributing to the design process from conceptual phase through to the construction documentation and ensuring the design idea is consistent and accurately executed.
- Prepare, and develop where required, drawings, models, images, and other documents relating to the design.
- Review and validation of design deliverables for projects of medium to high complexity with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and acquiring approvals, as needed.
- Collaborate closely, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organizations or companies.
- Technically competent in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Sketches, Adobe Suite and Rhino.
- Proactively checks and coordinates project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings, design reports, technical specifications, and ensure they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards.
- Preparation of discipline drawings for submission to the Statutory Authorities. Developed knowledge of local & international codes, regulations and submission requirements.
- Implementing SID “Safety in Design” principals throughout the design process and ensuring ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Structure throughout projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s qualification with relevant Architectural degree. PMI or APM certification is desirable.
- Proven experience of which 8 years must be working on Medium to Large Scale Projects.
- RIBA / AIA Licensed Architect would be preferred. MMUP Registration is ideal and LEED or GSAS credentials is an advantage.
- Extensive experience from concept through to construction, across a range of project types including residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, leisure, education and high-rise developments. Previous site experience would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of QCS and NFPA would be preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit, 3D rendering software utilizing a Revit or Sketchup / Rhino is a requirement.
- Middle East experience and working knowledge of design and construction practices specific to this region.
- High work performance and excellent communication and presentation skills.

The Architectural Inspector will ensure contractors comply with contract documents, coordinate daily with other teams to document and verify work quality and quantity, process Inspection Requests and technical submittals, and perform actions as directed by project leads.
Job Duties
- Monitor and ensure all architectural engineering aspects are executed according to inspection plans, drawings, codes, and specifications.
- Coordinate with Senior Architectural Engineer, other engineers, and managers to provide support and guidance.
- Review and monitor work variations to mitigate time and cost impacts.
- Review contractor’s documents and shop drawings to identify and rectify issues affecting structural or functional integrity; monitor compliance with Quality Control Plan.
- Oversee inspection protocols for architectural works.
- Monitor safety during architectural installations.
- Provide progress reports on architectural aspects.
- Assist in expediting NOCs from authorities if delayed.
- Maintain site records, including daily diaries and monthly progress photos.
- Expedite approvals from clients and manage submission and approval processes with contractors.
- Conduct tests to confirm quality, finishes, and building components; perform site inspections as per drawings and specifications.
- Check placement, location, and quality of finishes and structural components.
- Ensure contractor’s compliance with the Quality Control Plan.

Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in architectural projects, including construction supervision with a consultancy, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
- Diploma in Engineering required for Inspector role; a related Degree for progression to Engineer.
- Safety training or certification is a plus.
Specific Skills
- Knowledge of basic design, architectural methodologies, finishes, and Building Codes.
- Experience with various building types, especially horizontal development, mixed-use residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to write clear reports and present views concisely in English.
- Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.
