Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering department at Raffles & Fairmont Doha. This role ensures that all hotel facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, are properly maintained and meet safety, quality, and service standards. The Engineering Manager also focuses on energy conservation and sustainability initiatives, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight:
- Support the Chief Engineer in managing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring that all systems and facilities are running efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor and maintain the functionality of critical hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fire safety systems.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operation.
- Respond quickly to guest and operational requests, ensuring prompt and professional handling of all maintenance issues.
- Team Leadership:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
- Experience in energy management, sustainability initiatives, and cost control is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The Engineering Supervisor assists in the daily supervision of the Engineering Department and is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hotel s buildings, systems, and equipment. This role supports operational excellence and guest satisfaction by leading a team of technicians and coordinating maintenance tasks. Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the work of engineering staff and contractors. Perform routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety standards. Oversee repairs and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Assist in planning and executing preventive maintenance programs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and inventory. Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests. Support energy conservation initiatives and sustainability efforts. Ensure team compliance with safety policies, health regulations, and hotel standards. Assist in training and development of junior technicians. Qualifications & Competencies: Minimum of 3 years experience in a hotel or commercial building maintenance environment. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
