We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of Event Sales & Business Development to join a leading hospitality and cultural organization in Qatar. This is a newly created role, offering the chance to play a pivotal part in shaping and driving the success of an expanding events and business development division.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with the Director of Events & Sales to design and implement innovative sales strategies for venue hire, catering, and events.
- Lead the full sales cycle, from proposal preparation and negotiations to contract closure, CRM management, and post-event follow-up.
- Identify new opportunities by researching local and international markets across MICE, weddings, social, and corporate segments.
- Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and external service providers to maximize revenue and ensure exceptional event delivery.
- Collaborate closely with operations, culinary, and coordination teams to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and international conferences to promote the organization and generate new leads.
- Mentor and develop sales team members, ensuring high standards of service quality and guest experience.
- University degree in a relevant field.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
- Previous experience in international luxury hotels, event sales organizers, or convention centers is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills with proven business acumen.
- Excellent organizational and leadership capabilities, with a proactive and flexible approach.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Chinese/Mandarin is an advantage.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and event booking systems.
