Position: School Nurse
Job Summary:
The School Nurse will provide preventive and emergency care to students. This role includes educating students on hygiene and how to prevent communicable diseases, developing healthcare initiatives, and ensuring that medical supplies and equipment for first aid and emergency care are available and in working condition. The School Nurse will also assist in conducting medical examinations to detect early health issues that may impact learning, plan, implement, and evaluate health education programs, and maintain necessary records and reports as per guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Care:
Educate students on how to avoid communicable diseases and practice proper hygiene. Develop healthcare initiatives for the school. - First Aid and Emergency Care:
Provide first aid or emergency care to sick and injured students. Ensure that all necessary medical supplies and equipment are available and functioning in the school clinic. - Health Assessment:
Assess the needs of students requiring first aid care and administer treatment as appropriate. - Medical Examinations:
Assist in conducting medical examinations for students to detect early signs and symptoms of health issues that could affect their learning. - Health Education Programs:
Plan, implement, and evaluate health education programs for students. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain and submit necessary records, reports, and knowledge as per guidelines and regulations.

- Qualifications:
- Qualified to practice as a Registered Nurse in Qatar.
- Certified in CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Sound working knowledge of professional nursing principles and practices, as well as school health.
- Experience:
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health nursing, or pediatric nursing.
- Previous experience with Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) is preferred.
- Experience in an international school or tertiary education environment is preferred.
- Personal Qualities:
- Proactive, enthusiastic, ambitious, and energetic.
