Job Description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Design, implement, and maintain robust information system solutions that enhance organizational efficiency, security, and operational effectiveness within the scope of related Sections. The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for evaluating and deploying IS solutions, ensuring alignment with IS policies, and supporting the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of enterprise data. This includes developing and integrating new functionalities into existing systems, overseeing system configuration, installation, performance optimization, and alignment with business goals through expert-level systems analysis and technical leadership. The role involves working with various SMEs within the IS Department or from vendors for solution implementation. Assists in developing procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and Qatar’s regulatory requirements.

4.1 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

General Duties

  • Proven experience as a senior system analyst.
  • Experience with various Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, VMWare, or other Hypervisor infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing vulnerabilities and their impact on systems.
  • Hands-on experience deploying security patches on Microsoft Windows and non-Windows platforms.
  • Experience using tools like Microsoft SCCM and Manage Engine Desktop Central for patch management and deployment.
  • Technical knowledge of related applications and Windows OS.
  • Understanding of the latest IS solutions, techniques, and protocols.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (Web applications, Web Services, SOA) and related protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Support IS service delivery including deployment, assessment, and reporting of metrics.
  • Work independently under the guidance of the Head, IT Operations to ensure timely deployment, operations, and maintenance of IS systems.
  • Specify, evaluate, deploy, configure, support, maintain, and analyze related systems such as Virtualization Platforms, PAM, Patch Management, Email, Web Filter, Backup Systems, Office 365, Collaboration Platforms, Storage Systems, MFA, SSO, AD, DNS, DHCP, Data Servers, SAN, Hardware, Clusters.
  • Recommend procedural changes and enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with external audits and certifications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head, IT Operations or IS Manager.

4.2 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Quality, Health, Security, Safety, and Environment

  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures, SOPs, JSAs, MOC, and QMS.
  • Participate in safety activities to ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
  • Execute Stop Work Authority and implement corrective actions for unsafe behaviors.

Policies, Systems, Processes, and Procedures

  • Maintain knowledge of cybersecurity standards.
  • Contribute to the development of technical controls and procedures for compliance and security.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and practices to enhance confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Implement relevant processes, procedures, and instructions for consistent work execution.

Reporting

  • Communicate technical ideas clearly to stakeholders.
  • Prepare accurate reports to meet departmental requirements.
  • Inform supervisors of issues requiring follow-up.
  • Report incidents and participate in investigations.

Qatarization

Contribute to the development of Qatari employees, applicable to expatriate employees only.

5. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Information or Cyber Security.

Experience

  • Required: 5-7 years in a similar role/field, preferably in Oil & Gas or Petrochemicals.

Other Job Specific Requirements

  • SSL, SSO, LDAP experience, excellent communication, ability to work independently and in teams, meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, M365, Cloud, Hardware, Backup/Storage, Hypervisors, Security Patch Management, SCCM, Email, AD, Mobile Device Management.

Certifications

  • At least two of the following: MCSE, CISSP, CISA, CEH, GIAC, or equivalent.
