Job Purpose

  • Provide leadership to a multidiscipline organisation accountable towards achieving the safe, reliable, environmentally sound, and economically optimised offshore operations. Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

  • Key position through leadership and decision making has a significant impact on the both the offshore asset performance, risk management and the offshore facility performance in ensuring the sustained delivery of gas to the onshore inlet facilities.
  • The role leads and manages all QELNG Offshore Production & Maintenance activities: including Well Operations, Logistics, Shutdowns, Brownfield interface including with Major Project tie-ins, simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) with Drilling & Completions and Safety of Offshore Assets.
  • The role manages the full performance of complex, geographically spread offshore facilities, including living quarter complex with more than 10 geographically diverse remote wellhead platforms having more than 100 offshore wells to provide world-scale gas feedstock to LNG plants and Two gas pipeline projects to support QatarEnergy LNG's sales of LNG, NGL, Sales Gas, Helium, Sulphur, Condensate, and its refined products.
  • The job holder manages and controls offshore operations & maintenance activities, accommodation services and logistics, planned and unplanned shutdowns, project expansion coordination and execution, including simultaneous operations involving complex brown field project scope.


Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Direct & provide overall leadership to the asset team to deliver QELNG's corporate goals and shareholder expectations related to all aspects of offshore assets performance.
  • Approve and manage all offshore operational risks, including wells and pipelines to lower the risk to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). Manage any offshore emergency as level 1 Incident Commander and provide input to operations level-2 Emergency Response Team, by providing leadership during any facility emergencies.
  • Create and motivate a harmonious offshore environment, where personnel share living accommodations for up to 28 days (or other alternate shift schedule) to ensure a conducive productive workforce whilst maintaining workforce morale. Oversee recruitment, training & development, competency assurance, motivation & succession planning, whilst ensuring the Asset is staffed with competent personnel to meet the current and future organizational demands.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership in Safety, Quality, Environment, and Integrity issues in accordance with QatarEnergy LNG Managements System processes and ensure adherence to all processes and standards by providing feedback and guidance to Heads of Operations & Maintenance/Logistics/well & Pipeline Operations when area for improvement is identified.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Lead and authorize shutdown turnaround with in-house resources including planning, material identification, and work execution. This includes ensuring all facility maintenance strategies, including facility shutdowns and start-ups, pigging, subsea inspections are executed effectively with due consideration to safety and environmental issues. Accountable to implement & execute all integrity and maintenance programs associated with QELNG offshore wells.
  • Authorize & manage for all aspects of development of the asset annual operating and capital work plan and budget (WP&B) and subsequent stewardship of performance against the approved plan, with focus on cost optimization opportunities.
  • Work closely with Subsurface and other stakeholders through Upstream Gas Production Process to ensure and best align Offshore operations activities with onshore demand and to deliver on-spec and on-time gas volumes within specifications as required by Onshore facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.


Knowledge and/or Experience

Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Implement all types of wellwork activities in QatarEnergy LNG wells (either offshore or onshore) ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

  • Raise Subcontractor Request for subcon manpower if required. Collect the project / vessel specs from the commercial department and assist Piping Manager to assign the piping engineer for the project. Allocate the manpower for the vessels as per the project work scope.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Review the section Work Instructions (WI), Risk Assessment (RA) to cover all the piping activities. Closely follow-up the project in charges for the vessel documentation (SI / Technical Query Report / Work Completion Form / Lesson learnt & Project Post Mortem) after completion of vessels.
  • Foster an engaging culture of safe and productive work through role modelling N-KOM's values.
  • Prepare fit for purpose work Permits & Risk Assessments for the identification, control and / or mitigation of workplace risk.
  • Review and update the section Risk Assessments / Environmental Aspects & Impacts as per the latest safe practice and get approval from piping manager.
  • Apply mathematics and statistics to model production systems during decision making process.
  • Design, implement and refine products, services, processes and systems taking in consideration any constraints and local nuances whether supplier, buyer, substitutes, or new emerging information.
  • Apply appropriate knowledge in order to design, redesign or improve product & service functionality. Drive and implement process improvements to reduce assembly hours and build cost.
  • Apply concepts and quality techniques throughout the entire production process & system and deploy organizational standards for control proceedings and auditing.

Overview

Contribute to maximising Idd El-Shargi field economic recovery from various offshore reservoirs through production monitoring, well surveillance and optimization activities.

Experience
  • Experience: At least 5 years' proven experience in creating and deploying systems and applications for use by operations teams in roles including production operations, performance management, field operations engineering and field operations management system.
Skills
  • Self-Starter - ability to work with a minimum of supervision, produce robust proposals and operate to imposed deadlines.
  • Effective technical presentation, communication and writing skills.
  • Practiced in the use of SCADA / OSI-PI, Production Data Management Systems (e.g. Avocet), OFM and Digital Oilfield tools: PROSPER, GAP and IVM/IFM.
  • Deep understanding of IT systems and applications architecture.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as an advanced level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
  • Proven skills in introducing improvements to processes and ways of working.
  • Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, recommend best options and implement approved solution in support of goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in any Engineering field or equivalent or higher equivalent degree in (business) information systems, computer science, or related field.
