Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Service Development & Licensing

  • Lead the establishment of the Nuclear Medicine service, including protocols, staffing requirements, and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with the Facility Licensing Department and relevant governmental bodies (e.g. Ministry of Public Health, SCID, and Qatar Radiation Protection Department) to obtain service licensure and ensure regulatory compliance.

Clinical Practice

  • Ensure radiation safety standards are adhered to for patients, staff, and the environment.

Leadership & Training

To take a lead role in the identification and assessment of Patient eligibility and suitability of Patients receiving treatment at Naufar and initiate the development of individualized therapeutic strategies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Clinical Care:

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of medical care, which encompasses clinical assessment, treatment and management of Patients across a wide range of clinical areas including mental health disorders, lifestyle modification and chronic pain.
  • Assess Patient’s medical and mental health using a variety of diagnostic tests and through interviews and direct observation to establish eligibility and suitability of the Patient for receiving treatment at Naufar and initiate a comprehensive treatment plan that best meets Patients’ requirements.
  • Recommend the onward path the Patient will take as outpatient or inpatient to effectively and efficiently meet treatment goals. Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on Patients to provide information on general medical and mental health.
  • Provide Patients with a verbal summary of the key issues raised during the assessment process to confirm and reassure the Patients that they have been listened to and to check that all areas discussed were accurately interpreted and represented back by the physician.
  • Discuss with Patient the different treatment options (including location of treatment, benefits, potential side effects, duration, expectations and commitment required by the Patient) available based on the comprehensive medical assessment to effectively achieve Patient’s goals and to plan care process accordingly.
  • Present assessment in a standardized format to highlight areas of concerns in a structured way.
  • Perform a compressive risk assessment and devise management strategies to mitigate and effectively manage risk.
  • If needed, refer the Patient to the Consultant Psychiatrist to conduct a specialist assessment.
  • Use internationally validated tools to assist in determining the extent of withdrawal risk, and provide Patient with their detoxification options (i.e., drug free and/or medically assisted) based on that assessment.
  • Conduct detoxification to help Patient remove substance in question from body. Clearly explaining to Patients that detoxification is not a treatment for substance abuse but an early stage of their treatment journey.
  • When necessary prescribe pharmaceutical intervention to minimize the physical distress involved in withdrawal.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all Patients’ care information.

Research and Education:

  • Identify and propose research questions and assist in conducting clinical research to add to the evidence base of addiction treatment and related areas.
  • Undertake an agreed program of continuing professional development and attend conferences or seminars to increase the personal and collective understanding of general health.
  • Assist in educating the broader Naufar staff group to gain a better understanding of addiction, mental health and the role all staff play in the provision of Patient care.

Clinical Excellence:

  • Participate as applicable in developing appropriate clinical policies and procedures, clinical protocols, case management, quality assurance programmes as per the defined care standards.

Medical Records:

  • Update and utilize the information provided on the EMR to expedite the clinical activities, improve efficiency, and support decision making.

Professional/Academic Qualifications:

  • Primary degree in Medicine (MBChB, MBBS or MD degree) with completion of the appropriate internship-training program. (MANDATE)

Primary/DHP License:

  • Valid license to practice in country of origin or country of practice. (MANDATE)
  • Eligible for G.P license from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar to practice Healthcare Profession. (MANDATE)
  • Up-to-date CPD in relevant areas. (MANDATE)

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in general medicine or relevant field to psychiatry and substances abuse. (MANDATE)

Job Description

The Pediatric Physician function is to provide healthcare for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults 17 years of age and under. Pediatric physicians are crucial in the timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illness, disease, and injuries. The Pediatric Physician will be required to educate the patients and their caretaker on physical, psychological, growth and development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive health examinations for infants, young children, adolescents, and young adults.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
  • Order, perform, interpret test results, and analyzerecords and reports.
  • Provide follow-up care for patients as needed.
  • Prescribe medications and provide detailed instructions to the patient orcaregiver.
  • Administer treatments, therapies, and other specialized medical care.
  • Prescribe vaccinations based on current CDC guidelines and immigration requirements.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments withpatients and family membersin simple terms.
  • Monitor patients' growth and development.
  • Advise parents, patients, and guardians on nutrition, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient health information and histories.
  • Refer patients to specialists when required.
  • Coordinate healthcare plans with nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers.
  • Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Ensure that all medical records are meticulously and accurately maintained.
  • Provision of clinical reporting to the DCMO.
  • Ensure best practices in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs.
  • Support the clinical excellence framework under the direction of the DCMO.
  • Provide liaison with external agencies where required to promote continuity of care and professional referral / patient handover.
  • Provide pediatric consulting services to Emergency Room and Urgent Care personnel as required.
  • Produce as required daily, weekly or monthly activity mandated reports.
  • Participate in call coverage to provide 24 hours 7 day a week urgent or emergency coverage.
  • Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year.
  • Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge :

  • Current and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the country recruited. As example, physicians licensed or credentialed by a national council (e.g. the UK) or by a state or provincial council (the U.S. or Canada or other country with strict licensing) are assumed to have acceptable credentials.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrix environment

Education Required :

  • Graduated from an approved medical school that is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and is noted to be acceptable for applying to the ECFMG for the year of graduation listed.
  • Board eligibility in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine / Pediatrics, or Equivalent.
  • Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • DEA number or Equivalent is preferred.

Key Skills :

  • Experience with the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric patients in an emergency or urgent care environment.
  • Ability to assess and accurately diagnose pediatric patients.
  • The ability to make quick medical treatment care plans and decisions.
  • Ability to provide follow-up care for patients.
  • Laceration repairs, wound care, venipuncture, abscess I&D, cast and splint application, etc. as they present in pediatric patients
  • Provides empathetic and personalized medical care.
  • Accurate, detailed patient charting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • The ability to obtain a base security clearance.
  • Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
  • A valid passport is required in Country of Record and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay.
