Job Purpose
The Subsystem Specialist is part of the Instrument Discipline Team, responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance and modification of 25 Instrument Subsystems that are used for safeguarding, control, and monitoring of various processes. Principal Accountabilities
• Assist in operational activities through equipment inspection and maintenance based on QA/QC procedures and Reliability-Centered Maintenance techniques.
• Contribute to the reliability and integrity of plant instrumentation equipment by applying approved standards, procedures, and schedules within an ISO-certified quality assurance system.
• Act as a front-line maintenance person for Subsystems problems and breakdown maintenance.

Should be able to demonstrate that he has been conducting rig moves in an unsupervised capacity for five years and should have around 100 moves on to fixed structures, using towing vessels only.
• Fully familiar with all aspects of marine operations connected with the offshore industry and should be willing to train an existing work force.
• The Marine field encompasses a multitude of disciplines and therefore experience in other marine operations besides Rig/Barge move operations is desirable. Examples of other desirable experience are :-

- Such electrical deliverables including but not limited to the design basis, load schedules, sizing calculations (equipment, cable, UPS, battery), experience with completing power system studies (short circuit, load flow, transient, motor starting and harmonic studies), relay settings, power adequacy, lighting/earthing/lightning protection deliverables, block & single line diagrams, electrical layouts (equipment, cable, tray, duct and trench), equipment specifications & datasheets, wiring & termination diagrams, preparation and development of enquiry packages including Specifications, Datasheets, Request for Quotation and Technical Bid Evaluation.
- Reviewing, checking and approving of these electrical deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with the scope of work prior to issue
- Supervise less experienced electrical engineers and, where required, be line manager for electrical engineers within Qatar office.
- Support recruitment, training and development of electrical personnel
- Follow company standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by the Engineering Manager
- Serves as the Lead Engineer and/or discipline technical authority when required on medium to large complexity projects
- When assigned as the lead, manages the electrical scope of work within the agreed budget and timeframe, ensuring that key milestones are met for the overall project delivery
- Ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets using sound technical knowledge and decision-making skills
- Proactively engages and interfaces with other disciplines / third parties to ensure delivery of work scope to meet project and client expectations
- Completes technical reviews and audits within the electrical discipline for projects of varying complexity
- Acts as Wood's technical representative for the electrical discipline, liaising and closely coordinating with clients and third parties
- Reviews and approves material take off for the electrical discipline
- Completion of site surveys and data gathering for brownfield scope of work
- Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your fields of expertise
- As a technical specialist demonstrates, provides and develops appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues
- Take a proactive approach to personal & professional development
- Ensure Wood and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated work
- Demonstrate appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing these appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues to the Engineering Manager
- Seek and support opportunities for department and project improvement and contribute to developing solutions
- Demonstrates customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives

Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry
- Proven capability in an engineering design company in a similar position
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a :
Structural & Piping Engineer
Ensure the application of NOC HSE and Safety Engineering policies, process, standards and guidelines incl. international
rulesets.
Ensure that contractors comply at all times with safety rules, taking actions as required in case of disregards.
Promote safety culture within NOC personnel and contractors as well as reporting of anomalies.
Develop design of new structural installations or define structural modifications.
Coordinate preliminary, basic and detailed facilities engineering studies / design in-house with minimal supervision.
Generate requisitions for Structural material procurement and technical bids evaluation.
Undertake necessary technical studies in order to propose robust and optimized technical solutions.
Coordinate scope of work, cost estimates, budgets and technical dossiers for structure related activities.
Input to the planning and organization and supervision of the offshore structural survey campaigns to ensure compliance.
Assist the technical review of the bidders' proposals and prepare technical recommendations accordingly.
Check and approve structural engineering deliverables received from Contractors for Basic / Detailed Engineering.
Ensure that the Engineering Contractors submit all deliverables on time and assure them regularly to achieve NOC quality
expectations.
Perform quality control of the Engineering Contractor (Supports, Geotech, weight and stress analysis, specifications, material
list).
Carry out simplified and detailed stress analysis calculations and checks (using both manual and recognized structural
engineering software)
Follow-up Purchase Orders of structure material to ensure timely approval, conformity of design.
Profile
Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication
You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
