Roles and Responsibilities:
In line with QCS 2014 Health, Safety & Environmental requirements , the Lifting Appointed Person shall be responsible for:
- Assess the proposed lift to identify the hazards and corresponding risks, provide for planning, selection of equipment, instruction and supervision to enable the work to be carried out safely.
- Ensure that all tests, inspections, examinations and maintenance have been carried out, and that there is a procedure for reporting defects and taking any necessary corrective action.
- Ensure that the crane supervisor is fully briefed on the relevant sections of the lift plan and contents of method statements.
- Have the authority to carry out their duties and to stop the operations if they think there is a danger.
- Ensure that lifting plan is prepared to manage all sort of lifting operation at the workplace with reference to local and international standard.
- Coordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with the lifting plan.
- Lifting appointed person will determine the appropriate type of hoist required, based upon criteria and information on the intended usage of hoist provided by the user's.
- Ensuring that only registered crane operators, appointed riggers and appointed signal man participate in any lifting operation.
- Ensure lifting equipment and accessories are suitable for the task and have adequate strength and stable in use.
- Lifting appointed Person assesses lifts and classifies as either standard or complex.
- Lifting appointed person interfaces with specialist’s engineers, designers, temporary works co-ordinators to assess options and limitations.
- Lifting appointed person prepares, reviews Lift Plan and ensures permits in place. NB additional permit required for multi positions.
- Ensure the crane and lifting gears Logs are being maintained and all fitness certificates records and maintained and retained.
- Ensure competency log of all lifting team are maintained and renew at when due.
- Ensure 3rd party inspection and internal periodic inspection of the cranes and lifting gears are being maintained and established in the lifting plan.
- Ensuring ground conditions are safe for any lifting operation.
- Lifting appointed persons should be present during the critical lifting operation.
- Ensure adequate safety measures taken for lifting operation and ‘Permit to Work’ is obtained prior commencing of the activity.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma or related field.
- LEEA Certified Appointed Person
- Certified Lifting Supervisor
- Strong knowledge of lifting plans, lifting regulations, international standards, and load charts.
- Proven ability to lead, supervise, and coordinate safe lifting operations.

Overview:
We are seeking to hire a QC Inspector for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role; GCC experience is preferred.
Fluency in English is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the client’s management system relevant to your function.
- Ensure safety for yourself and others, actively participating in all safety matters during construction.
- Prevent environmental pollution related to the project.

Primary Functions- Supervise Quality Control activities to determine product conformity to customer specification through effective inspection and test in accordance with the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan. - Direct, Supervise and Participate in inspection activities to assure product quality.
- Follow quality planning for the project to assure compliance through proactive measure. Consults with the Manager Assurance and Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM) concerning non-conforming products and respective corrective & prevention plan.
- Initiate and involve for evaluation for non-conforming products and processes when encountered.
- Involve in preparation of project specific procedure and plans and conduct periodic walkthrough and Perform readiness review as per the readiness review plan
- Assess the manpower requirement during project execution as per schedule and the progress.
- Appraise product quality in accordance with the Project Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan and determine conformity and non-conformity.
- All inspection results need to be documented and if nonconformity exists required documentation shall be raised to establish corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide interpretation of applicable code specifications and customer requirements. Any deviation deemed necessary to be raised with Manager Assurance and Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM) to address it through approved change management process such as TQ, Concession request, Waivers etc.
- Verify Quality inspectors’ effectiveness of their ability, job knowledge, punctuality and generation of inspection report through periodic competency assessment.
- Proactive approach in prevention of a nonconformance by interface with Field Engineers and customer representative on board in conjunction with Manager Assurance / Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM).
- Conduct internal and external audits as applicable to assess the effectiveness of Quality System outlined in Project Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan.
- Oversee the as-built certification as it is progressed through work approval packages and monitor progress/status of the Mechanical completion.
- Conduct project scope of work awareness.
- Conduct readiness reviews.
- Coordination with COMPANY Representatives for any technical concerns.
- Support to review Site & Technical Queries as per the Quality requirements
Education:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical (3 years).
