Job Description

Job Purpose

The role holders will have responsibility for operating and monitoring field equipment, in all field areas of the Power Station/ Power Generation plant to assist in achieving effective optimum operational status. They are deployed in the field on a shift basis, and they have an emergency response role and must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO Integrated Management Systems procedures. They have authority to make field related emergency decisions as per equipment operating procedure and handling of emergencies, and in normal plant situations, in consultation with Panel operator and Shift Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate field equipment in accordance with operating procedures and approved safety and environment procedures to ensure effective and optimum operational status of equipment. Make decisions to stop/start equipment based on experience and abnormal situations.
  • Monitor and log all operating parameters to ensure operations are within normal limits that all irregularities are reported to panel operator for advice and/or Shift Supervisor for solution.
  • Participate in one relevant off the job training course prescribed by QAFCO or have equivalent education and experience to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the plant, shift supervisor can assign them as and when required.
  • Develop an understanding of all operational procedures and practices through on-the-job training to ensure readiness and capability to effectively operation of all field areas of the plant.
  • Provide immediate first-line response capability in the event of emergencies or major incidents in order to eliminate or limit potential loss or damage to QAFCO personnel, assets and the environment. Make appropriate decisions considering the situation.
  • Perform and provide the necessary assistant on-the-job training of new and trainee operators to ensure they develop the necessary skills to independently operate the allocated areas of the plant.
  • Perform and adhere to housekeeping procedure to maintain a safe, clean and neat work environment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of High School + 2 years Diploma in relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience working in Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Experience in the start-up/shutdown and normal operations of power stations; installation, maintenance, testing and/or operation of gas turbine driven generators, transformers, pumps, motors, batteries, battery chargers, PLCs, 66kV indoor/outdoor substations, switch boards, oil/vaccum/SF6 gas insulated circuit breakers etc. Experience in operation of GE frame 6 gas turbines, Rolls Royce Avon gas generators, Speedtronic Mark V control system, Honeywell micro TDC 3000 operating system, etc will be an added advantage.
  • Familiar with the process operations of power generators with steam and gas turbines, power distribution system, DCS Process, Emergency Shutdown and Fire & Gas Systems, etc.
  • Know how to control an emergency or critical situation, prepare shut down and start up process systems in a safe and controlled manner protecting personnel from injury and plant or equipment from damage.
  • Know how to read diagrams and extract information from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Know how to use the full complement of firefighting equipment and understand the Permit to Work (PTW) system.

Job Purpose

The role holders in this level will have shift responsibility for monitoring, controlling and expertise in Operating the entire area in the field. They work independently with minimum supervision on a shift basis and will be required to have deep knowledge of the plant equipment, and an analytical approach and the ability to identify real and potential problems. Role holders at this level are deployed in the field on a shift basis and have responsibility for operating and monitoring field equipment, in an allocated area of the plant to assist in achieving effective optimum operational status.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor and log all operating parameters to ensure operations are within normal limits that all irregularities are reported to immediate superiors.
  • Monitor overall equipment performance to ensure export targets are met and that outputs meet quality standards. Prepare equipment performance reliability reports (daily, weekly, monthly) as required.
  • Provide supervisor with work status reports to enable effective monitoring of overall progress against agreed plans.
  • Gather and organize product movement and shipping data for recent production periods and compare performance to initial forecast. Use communication equipment to convey work instructions to hired manpower and mobile equipment operators and maintain contact with plant for feed and jetty and transport operators for export.

Objective/ Purpose of the role

Repairs/installs and maintains Aerial Work Platform equipment in a safe and professional manner, including DC electrical systems, hydraulic systems, & associated equipment, as well as mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, and sub-assemblies, by performing the duties listed below:

The senior technician serves as an advanced level worker performing the most complex assignments, and also provides technical assistance in diagnosis and repair of Aerial work platforms.

This position requires an employee to possess a high degree of independent judgement in making decisions without availability of supervision, also schedules work, monitors quality, efficient and cost effective approach in doing task and valued customer relations.

Representative Duties
  • Performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance and repair of AWP’s.
  • Performs preventive maintenance of AWP’s in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations and Manlift service schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of written records and reports, reads and interprets plans and specifications.
  • Responds to customer inquiries in a courteous manner, provides information within the areas of assignment.
  • Work safely and adhere to safe work practices and procedures in accordance with the TMW (The Manlift Way).
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maintain positive customer relations through professional interactions with customers.
  • Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of Aerial Work Platforms and associated equipment, which utilise mechanical, diesel, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Installs and repairs mechanical, hydraulic or electrical parts such as hydraulic cylinders, engine parts, switches, controllers and associated components.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Starts / operates devices to test their performance
  • Sets up and operates repair equipment and repair parts according to instruction & procedure

  • Analyze existing work procedures and develop a plan to improve ways to provide efficient, time saving and cost effective approach processes.
  • Perform a variety of specialized maintenance and repair work assigned such as – major overhauls of Engine, Hydraulic pumps & cylinders, Rotary coupling, swing drive, torque hub and other mechanical components.
  • Repair electrical components such as starter motors, alternators, and various controllers used on the AWP’s.
  • Test and perform pressure setting procedures of function pump, control valves, charge & pressure valves, Engine valve lash adjustment.
  • Use testing and measuring instruments to Test, analyze, calibrate and adjust/ upgrade JLG control system, Genie generic system, Teupen TODAC system, EZcal on MEC, Snorkel & Skyjack machines.
  • Read and interpret basic hydraulic & electrical schematic and troubleshoot faults on various AWP’s.
  • Carry out major refurbishment work of AWP’s which involves replacement of boom/scissor assembly and major components.
  • Periodic safety, operation and maintenance inspection of machines at various sites.
  • Install track and trace equipment on AWP’s and upgrade equipment system performance in accordance with manufacturer's safety notice.
Details of more specific additional duties: (Including but not limited to :)
  • Applying approved methods of work & repair practices. Alternative methods will be considered after consultation. An example of approved procedures for the maintenance and repair of equipment is the “Service Work Order”.
  • All Technicians involved in “On site servicing” & “Breakdowns”, must adopt & use the approved procedure only. Examples of some of these procedures are; the correct use & completion of “Field Service Reports”, correct phone procedure, & the polite communication with clients at all times.
  • Any parts replaced must be recorded on the approved “service work order” or “Field service reports”.
  • All parts that are replaced under warranty must have the appropriate paperwork completed as soon as the part has been used. (Determination of warranty status can be obtained from the Workshop Manager).
  • All tools used must be operated in the manner for which they were designed; looked after and returned to their correct location at the end of the working day.
  • All work practices must be safe. Applicable “Personal Protective Equipment”, such as Safety glasses & hearing protection, must be used at all times where applicable.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment and make repetitive hand movement, heights on ladders, to lift, carry, push and or pull moderate amounts of weight, to operate/test the assigned equipment, and communicate to exchange information.
  • Vision should see in the normal visual range with or without correction. Vision sufficient to read computer screens and on board digital controller screens and schematic drawings.
  • Hearing in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Job Purpose

  • Implement wellwork operations in QatarEnergy LNG production and injection wells, meeting the Company's target and in the most cost-effective manner, while maintaining the highest level of safety, environmental and security compliance.


Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Implement all types of wellwork activities in QatarEnergy LNG wells (either offshore or onshore) ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Implement any technologically complex rigless wellwork to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Ensure proper programs, procedures and guidelines are followed to ensure safe and efficient wellwork operation. Identify any significant findings during wellwork activities, report to Head of Well Operations or Offshore Operations.
  • Arrange equipment and personnel mobilization and demobilization. Coordinate between contractors and QatarEnergy LNG related divisions to support well intervention division tasks whenever is required.
  • Examine equipment, tools, and consumables at the site to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and of adequate quantity. Advise Well Engineering team on time in the event of any discrepancy or shortfall to ensure zero downtime and to ensure that the wellwork schedule is not adversely affected.


Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessment to ensure all risks are mitigated and are within acceptable limits. Conduct regular Toolbox Talks to ensure all crewmembers understand the operation and is aware of any potential risk and the mitigation measures.
  • Analyse row data, maintain records, and compile daily reports in Well View in a timely manner to ensure all the relevant wellwork data and information is captured.
  • Implement well handover process in a safe and efficient way prior to or after any rigless well work operation. Develop continuous awareness of QatarEnergy LNG Incident and Injury Free (IIF) Safety Culture to contractor and service personnel to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Develop a strong awareness of blowout prevention among the rigless well work crew & maintain a blowout prevention condition all the time to avoid any well control incident during any rigless well work operation.
  • Maintain all time readiness for responding to any well control incident. Implement QatarEnergy LNG Well Control Plan Emergency Response Plan during a well control incident, if any, as deputy on-scene commander to ensure a prompt response during the incident. Conduct well control drills to ensure all rigless crewmembers are aware of the response actions during a well control incident.
  • Coordinate with Onshore and Offshore Operations, Maintenance Project teams, Drilling & Completions, Petroleum Engineering, SEQ, Warehouse and other disciplines to maximize well utilization, to minimize well downtime and to avoid undue expenses.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Natural Gas, Mechanical).

Job Purpose

Key Job Accountabilities

Safety and Risk Management
Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessments to mitigate risks. Lead regular Tool Box Talks to ensure crew awareness of operations and risks.
Analyze subsurface logging data to meet job objectives. Maintain detailed operation records and compile daily reports in Well View.
Implement well handover procedures safely and efficiently. Promote a safety culture aligned with the company's Incident and Injury Free (IIF) initiative.
Develop awareness of blowout prevention among crew and maintain blowout prevention readiness to prevent well control incidents.
Respond promptly to well control incidents, implementing the company's Well Control and Emergency Response Plans. Conduct well control drills to ensure crew preparedness.

Coordination and Optimization
Coordinate with Onshore and Offshore Operations, Maintenance, Project teams, Drilling, Completions, Petroleum Engineering, SEQ, Warehouse, and other disciplines to maximize well utilization, minimize downtime, and control expenses.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Natural Gas, Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in wellwork operations in oil and gas, including at least 5 years in rigless wellwork, offshore or onshore.
Experience with high pressure, high temperature, and toxic gas wells is preferred.
Knowledge of well engineering disciplines, including Wellhead, Tree & Surface Equipment, Subsurface Equipment, Cased Hole, Production Logging, Well and Tubular Design, Pressure Control Equipment, and Well Barrier requirements.

Job Purpose

  • Examine equipment, tools, and consumables at the site to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and of adequate quantity. Advise Well Engineering team on time in the event of any discrepancy or shortfall to ensure zero downtime and to ensure that the wellwork schedule is not adversely affected.


Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessment to ensure all risks are mitigated and are within acceptable limits. Conduct regular Toolbox Talks to ensure all crewmembers understand the operation and is aware of any potential risk and the mitigation measures.
  • Analyse row data, maintain records, and compile daily reports in Well View in a timely manner to ensure all the relevant wellwork data and information is captured.
  • Implement well handover process in a safe and efficient way prior to or after any rigless well work operation. Develop continuous awareness of QatarEnergy LNG Incident and Injury Free (IIF) Safety Culture to contractor and service personnel to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Develop a strong awareness of blowout prevention among the rigless well work crew & maintain a blowout prevention condition all the time to avoid any well control incident during any rigless well work operation.
  • Maintain all time readiness for responding to any well control incident. Implement QatarEnergy LNG Well Control Plan Emergency Response Plan during a well control incident, if any, as deputy on-scene commander to ensure a prompt response during the incident. Conduct well control drills to ensure all rigless crewmembers are aware of the response actions during a well control incident.
  • Coordinate with Onshore and Offshore Operations, Maintenance Project teams, Drilling & Completions, Petroleum Engineering, SEQ, Warehouse and other disciplines to maximize well utilization, to minimize well downtime and to avoid undue expenses.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Natural Gas, Mechanical).
