We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of raw materials and operational supplies for our lubricant manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of various grades of base oils and lubricant additives , along with proven experience in general procurement for plant operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of high-quality materials required for production efficiency and cost control.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or Supply Chain Management .
- 7+ years of procurement experience in a lubricant or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of base oils and lubricant additives , including their classifications and applications.
- Hands-on experience in general procurement across all plant operations.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP Preferred).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language is highly preferred .
Key Responsibilities:
Base Oil & Additive Procurement:
- Source and manage procurement of various grades of base oils , including: Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV (PAO), and Group V (Ester, Naphthenic, etc.)
- Ensure quality, compatibility, and stock availability of base oils for multiple lubricant formulations.
- Procure a wide range of lubricant additives , such as:
- Detergents, dispersants, antioxidants
- Anti-wear agents, VI improvers, pour point depressants
- Friction modifiers, corrosion inhibitors
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to meet technical and blending specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships with global additive and base oil manufacturers
General Procurement:
- Oversee procurement of plant-wide operational needs including:
- Packaging materials (drums, caps, labels)
- Machinery, spare parts, maintenance tools
- General consumables, safety items, and services
- Negotiate with local and international vendors to secure cost-effective, high-quality materials.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse, production, and maintenance departments.
