Key Responsibilities:
- Respond and attend to patient’s medical problems or conditions by performing comprehensive medical history including (but not limited to) allergy history, past medical history, family history, physical examination, assessment and requesting relevant diagnostic investigations in order to establish accurate diagnosis and develop treatment plan, prescribe or administer medications, perform medical procedures to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury within the limitation of their scope of license or approved privileges issued by DHP.
- Responsible to acquire and secure patient’s written consent by explaining thoroughly the purpose and content of the consent form.
- Performing consultation, assessment and medical/therapeutic procedures of patients under the scope of practice and approved privileges (Core and Non-Core) as stated in the license issued by Department of Healthcare Practitioners (DHP), Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).
- Request, order, analyze and Interpret results of complex diagnostic tests and investigations and act as a point of contact for providing expert views on interpretation to patients, family members and/or significant others in order to support or aide the diagnosis and utilize as basis for treatment plan, dosing, frequency, and/or adjustment of prescription medicines.
- Manage patient conditions through a multidisciplinary approach that is according to patient’s need and ability base on his/her medical condition that necessitate the need for referral to other suitable medical specialist or medical department, in order to provide the best care and treatment possible with holistic and patient centered approach.
- Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by thinking what might go wrong in all your undertakings and take necessary measures to prevent them from happening by following patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols. Performing risk assessment to identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, errors and/or near misses in timely manner.
- Report to Medical Manager the risks in your area of work, develop a plan on how to mitigate those risks, and develop shared accountability for implementing and evaluating the plan. Understand patient safety and ensure it is part of the care delivery.
- Maintain high standards of professional integrity and respect for others in all dealings with service users, colleagues, other professionals and members of the public.
- Interpret and explain complex facts regarding patient’s condition in simple easy to understand language while being aware of level of understanding, disabilities and learning difficulties.
- Communicate competently and sensitively and establish a patient centered relationship in order to recognize cultural, religious, disability, gender issues, communication style, content and language when communicating with patients, family members, significant others and staff
- Maintain an accurate patient’s comprehensive health record documentation in Electronic Medical records on timely manner in chronological order demonstrating continuity of care and response to patient as per compliance with the facility’s Electronic Medical Records Policy and Procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Preferably with DHP License in Qatar
- Specialty degree in the relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years of post-specialty experience in a governmental, semi-governmental, or teaching hospital
