Job Description
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform all duties and tasks in the assigned work area.
- Work collaboratively within a team and provide lateral service.
- Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties assigned by the Steward Supervisor.
- Be flexible and willing to rotate within different sub-departments of Food & Beverage or other hotel departments as assigned.
- Adhere strictly to the established opening and closing procedures for the department.
- Be fully familiar with all hotel services and facilities.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Keep the work area and surrounding environment clean and organized.
- Understand and follow HACCP procedures and their purposes.
- Monitor supplies to reduce spoilage and wastage.
- Perform general cleaning duties as assigned.
- Clean and wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to standards.
- Empty rubbish bins according to schedules.
- Use dishwashing machines and chemicals correctly and safely.
- Handle guest and employee inquiries courteously and efficiently, reporting issues to supervisors and following up as needed.
- Attend all staff meetings, departmental, and hotel training activities.
Qualifications
High school education required. Minimum of one year experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel.
