Role Description

• Knowledge of engineering Sequence of activities.
• Interaction with the Company's project engineering to assure a smooth and effective progress of the Project engineering.
• Should able to create engineering execution procedure and other required design procedures as per the requirement.
• Knowledge about document weightage and submission progress of engineering deliverables.
• Co-ordination with All discipline Lead engineers and resolve the conflicts during engineering and execution stage.
• Need to closely monitor sub-contractors and their resources and work front and report to management.
• Collaboration in Interface management Identification, list update, meeting/workshop, checking engineering related action status
• Lead of engineering meetings, workshops and conference calls with relevant departments (procurement/construction/commissioning/etc.)
• Knowledge on safety studies, model reviews & workshop is mandatory.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical / Chemical is mandatory.
• Should have any design software knowledge.

Monitor engineering progress and milestone and help management team to achieve them

Experience:

• More than 5-year experience for Project engineering in Oil and Gas projects
• Preferably with experience of Qatar Energy
• Preferably with experience of engineering management knowledge.
• Working experience with design consultant is mandatory

Other Skills.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiar with International design codes and submission requirements

Role Purpose:

To support the Project Manager in planning, execution, coordinating, and monitoring all phases of steel structure & Process Piping projects — from engineering, procurement, fabrication and site activities — ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination

2. Attend Kick Off Meeting

3. Understand full scope from contract, drawings, and specifications.
4. Break down the scope into actionable tasks across Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Site activities.
5. Develop and maintain project tracking systems (engineering deliverables , PQD, Material Submittal, Method statement, ITP, RA, procurement status, fabrication & erection progress).
6. Prepare project execution plans, tracking sheets, and look-ahead schedules.

7. Ensure key milestones are achieved as per baseline program.

8. Engineering & Documentation Control

9. Coordinate with the Engineering Team to ensure timely release of Shop drawings submission for client approval, verify BOM for material purchase and fabrication drawing release.

10. Review drawing submissions and ensure design intent is met.
11. Track and follow up on client approvals for shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, RA, etc.

12. Maintain up-to-date document registers and logs, like variation tracker, drawing submission and approval register, Fabrication, delivery & IR tracker.

13. Procurement & Material Readiness

14. Monitor procurement status of materials and components based on project schedule.

15. Verify material availability and match with erection sequences.

16. Coordinate with procurement and store teams for dispatches to site.

17. Fabrication & Erection Follow-up

18. Liaise with the fabrication department to ensure prioritization as per erection sequence and delivery.

19. Verify readiness of items (NDT, painting, final inspection, tagging and delivery) for dispatch.
20. Prepare and verify the site readiness checklist and erection planning inputs.

21. Coordinate with Site Engineers to ensure accurate installation and for daily reports.

22. Communication & Reporting

23. Conduct internal coordination meetings and attend client/project review meetings.

24. Escalate delays or risks to the Project Manager with mitigation plans.
25. Prepare and submit weekly progress reports and client reports.

26. Maintain logs for RFIs, NCRs, drawing approvals, submission approvals, delivery notes, and inspection reports.

27. Quality, Safety & Compliance

28. Ensure compliance with project ITPs, Method Statements, and client specifications.

29. Support QC team in inspections and closure of inspection comments.
30. Follow-up site team to make site inspections and approvals
31. Ensure all site and shop activities meet HSE standards in coordination with Safety Officers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil/mechanical engineering in steel structure related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years' experience in structural steel / Process Piping documentation & project execution.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings (GA, shop, erection), BOQs, and material specs.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Project coordination and time management.
• MS Excel, MS Project / Primavera (preferred), AutoCAD (basic).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of QA/QC and HSE procedures.
• ERP knowledge (preferred).
